TO SERVE
Coding Power is a non-profit organization that aims to empower youth through a friendly and encouraging course of coding in Java. We offer beginner-to-intermediate-level Java classes online and at local libraries and elementary/middle schools.

Coding Power is run by high school student volunteers from Southern California. Our volunteer teachers have all reached college-level coding proficiency by passing AP Computer Science A in their middle school or early high school years.

Coding Power is officially certified to present the President's Volunteer Service Awards to our volunteers.

OUR MISSION
Coding Power is a certified 501(c) non-profit organization which brings the world of coding to as many students as we can.
As a team of high schoolers from all across the United States, we are all passionate in making a chance one line of code at a time.

WHY CODING?
Computer science is a growing industry that can be applied to every field imaginable.
Despite the importance of computer science education, only 5% of high schools in the U.S. offer courses for the AP Computer Science A Exam. This has forced many students to look for other ways to learn computer science outside of school. We believe that we can help to make a difference.

JAVA CODING WORKBOOKS
Coding Power founders have constructed three volumes of AP Computer Science A Java Workbooks under Cypress Computing Academy's Student Company Team training program.
These workbooks consist of worksets containing explanations of fundamental concepts, examples, and exercises in Java. We provide fill-in-the-blank exercises to help students solve problems using best practices. We also direct students to solve CodingBat problems in an interactive online environment to measure their speed and accuracy.
Workbooks are used in CP 201 or above classes.

My son looked forward to this class every day. I never had to remind him. He was always ready to go. He has always been interested in coding and he needed a little push to move beyond block-based coding to text coding. Thank you for providing this opportunity.
~
Thanks for teaching the class, it is well organized and my kid learned a lot!

It was a great experience for both of my kids. They learned a lot and enjoyed the classes. The teachers are knowledgeable, very friendly, and patient. We appreciate all the Coding Power teachers!
